pLaTon is a free (covered by the GPL licence) LaTeX to HTML convertor written in Perl. You can download it, use it, modify it, redistribute it... your choice, your freedom.

This projet, created by Jean-Philippe CAR UANA and Thomas van Oudenhove, attemps to replace the LaTeX2HTML program, created by Nikos DRAKOS. This program is quite a very good one, but it has some defaults, and the objectives of the pLaTon project are resolving this problems.

pLaTon will work under Unix architectures (Linux, Unix, xBSD) provided with Perl, LaTeX and ImageMagick. A port will be maybe made to other plateforms, maily MacOS and Windows, but this will not be part of the current project.
